4 Fall Fashion “Must Haves” for your Wardrobe

4 Fall Fashion “Must Haves” for your Wardrobe

From Fashion Blogger McKenna Trahan with Style Waltz
Fall.  Just the word makes me long for cozy sweaters, smore’s over a campfire and a Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Latte.  It is this time of year that I get most excited about, as life it seems, begins again and beckons us outside to be enjoyed.

The fall season is all about getting creative and layering your daily #ootd.   One fall element that is essential to any closet is the plaid shirt.  This can be used to layer under a crew neck sweater, over skinny jeans or tucked into a pencil skirt for a preppy/chic look.  Do not be afraid to mix prints with your plaid.  I personally love the leopard print with my plaid shirt.

Another fall element that I love and that is expected to be a big trend this year is the oversize sweater.  For those days you really just want to stay in your pajamas, consider your favorite leggings and a cozy, chunky oversized sweater to be your best friend.

I cannot think of fall without thinking of fur.  Small accents of fur like a fur muffler or vest are perfect for the season and definitely add an element of warmth to your outfit.  I am a fan of faux fur, but if you have the real deal then by all means rock it!

Another trend that I love this season is the hat.  I really do not consider myself a “hat lady” but will probably try the wide brimmed felt hats out this year. I’m thinking a black or burghandy one will pair nicely with that over sized sweater and skinny jeans.  It brings polish and a sophisticated look to any outfit.   Another hat that is chic and cool is the updated baseball hat.  For these, leave behind any idea of what you think a baseball hat should look like and think materials like houndstooth and wool.  Something with pattern like a check or leopard print is a must!

I hope these few trend tips are getting you excited about your fall closet. With a new season here, be adventurous and try something new!
