It’s always a great day when I have the honor or might I say privilege to photograph friends and their memories of life. As this is such a longed for and prayed for memory and happy time in my sweet friends life, I’m simply thrilled to be a part.
As these two are quickly approaching (single-digit days!!!) the altar where they will say “I-do” and begin a new journey in life I had to share these with the world before their wedding appears!! (ahhh).
As Eden and I have been friends for the past who knows how many years…we’ve done a lot together…we’ve traveled several thousand miles together…shopped together…drank enough coffee together for a lifetime…eaten some amazing food and stuffed ourselves full…(even times when I would order pizza and she would order some fancy duck dish…I just don’t get that, I have to eat normal food!!!!) well lets keep going…spent some money we shouldn’t have just because well we were single and could…stayed up on many late night chats…ran lots of miles together…and who knows what else we’ve gotten ourselves into over the years…its been great memories…but as we sat over coffee at the beginning of October last year…I had only been married about 5 short weeks and we finally met up for the first time since marriage. I was careful not to gush into the joy and fun and happy times we’d had…I was being sensitive to my “single friend”. Well low-and-behold…she tells me about “this guy” she had met awhile back and he had begun to chat with her on Facebook. She wasn’t sure about him…didn’t see it going anywhere with “this guy”. I tried to tell her to give him a chance…just see…yet she wanted to set him up with another friend of ours and be done with him…well something about “this guy”–he has stuck around for a lot longer than I anticipated after our first conversation about him. I think she’s found he’s a keeper…lets fast-forward almost an entire year…
…as I’m just one year and a short week ahead of her in marriage…I couldn’t be more thrilled for her and what lies ahead. I’ve prayed for her and encouraged her that this day will come…and here it is…we’re here…we’ve crossed the finish line of single years…onto a brand new course God has prepared and there is so much joy to be found and I’m so excited to see what God has for the two of them and what lies ahead. Our texting conversations have drastically changed over the past year…from what used to be–lets plan our single girls traveling trip…to—- guess what deal I found at the grocery store this week…or hey can you share that recipe with me…and what’s your biggest money saving tip! Life is good…life is full…life is a blessing.
I can’t wait to stand by Eden and Brad next weekend as they say “I-do” and witness what God has done in their life…although this is just the beginning of the amazing-ness and happiness that’s to come!
Sorry that was so mushy…that’s just what happens when my fingers start to writing…it just flows and comes. Thanks for reading and caring and sharing!
