Between Christmas and New Years I squeezed in one last session for some dear friends of mine. They called me up knowing that everyone would be in town…when one lives in Alaska…one in town…the other in North Carolina it’s hard to coordinate a time like this! The weather was absolutely perfect for us…the kids were perfect and it was great to catch up and see everyone!

This past Monday I celebrated my birthday! It was a [cr-a-zy b.u.s.y. day] but as a friend said “I like birthdays as an adult, seems like you get to celebrate longer than just one day!” I think I have to agree…it’s true…mine started a week ago Friday night and I still have birthday lunches scheduled for this coming week with friends…I guess there is beauty in growing up!!!

My birthday started at 6am…bright and early

I Traveled through 4 states on my birthday

A stop at Panera bread for my all time absolute favorite- chocolate chip bagel

Cards delivered in my mailbox- that is so a lost art, that’s why I love it

Voicemails with many versions of “Happy Birthday to YOU!” Many of which made me literally “LOL”

My sweet students bringing in cards and gifts- they wonder why I adore them?!?!?

Starbucks- indulging in my all time favorite at the moment- tall.skinny.decaf.salted caramel. mocha. with whip.

Lunch at Chick-fil-A…if you know me even a little big…you know my weakness is Chick-fil-a fries…so I indulged

Many text messages…including one from my uncle [who is sporting his new i-phone] …which totally made my day!

Finding my phone after my niece was playing with it and had surprised me by recording “Happy Birthday to EE” -that’s better than a cake any day.

The bagillion Facebook wall posts that my amazing family and friends graced me with! Therefore my phone was blowing up all day!!

Emails coming in all day from my great clients and friends

The teen girls from church surprising me with a cake during our Bible Study on Sunday night…this cake tops any I’ve ever seen!

Being home for a whole whopping 45 minutes on my actual birthday…I finally got home at 9:45pm after two Bible Classes and c.r.a.s.h.e.d.

It was a good one- I’m so thankful to be surrounded by great friends and family… but most of all I am so thankful for a loving Father who cares enough about me to give me the small things in life to enjoy!!!

I absolutely loved this session…it turned into such a sweet mommy and me session. This happy little two year old is full of personality and life…her blue eyes and smile will brighten anyones day…so sweet! She definitely kept me moving with her many games of chase during our session… oh the joys of a two year old!!! I love it, it’s one of my favorite ages to photograph!

Rachael.and.Allen [expecting]

I had the privilege to spend the afternoon with Rachael and Allen a few weeks ago photographing this season in life…expecting their first baby boy! Rachael is one beaming mother-to-be and I think Allen is pretty excited about being a first time daddy too! Their two puppies…well aka babies… came along for the session too and did their fair share of posing! The weather was perfect for us and the sunlight was amazing as it was setting! I love love love these two…had a blast shooting their wedding…had a blast shooting their expecting session and now waiting anxiously for their baby session!!!!! Eeeeeekkkkk I love my clients!!!

Meagan.&.Ryan [engaged]

Meagan…Ryan…and I met on a Saturday morning…it was a cool crisp December day in south Mississippi…overcast and a perfect day for an engagement session–well that is all in my opinion, of course! I love these two…although I will say I don’t know them all that well! Ryan was in a wedding party that I shot over a year ago…Meagan and I have talked “wedding” over coffee at Starbucks and have shared in many texts and emails. Then our short time spent the three of us during their session…one of the main things I have learned is…their passion and love for Christ is so evident and therefore floods over into one another.

I love Meagan’s “taste” i.e. colors, flowers, simplicity yet class…mind you, details and much more! I can’t wait to be a part of their special day in March!
