Long time friend, Colette and I met up last week to do a little lifestyle shoot for her new business. Colette is an RN, has traveled all over the US and outside of the US working as a nurse…and for the past seven years has specialized in oncology. She has seen the negative affects of traditional medical treatment first hand. This prompted her to personally have a healthier lifestyle which gave her a burden to help others. She is starting a new business as a Holistic Health Coach/Counselor which she is very passionate about. She works with people to help them revive their health. Focusing on weight loss, Chronic fatigue, Irritable bowel syndrome, and cancer prevention, and remission. Every year for my spring break I head up to North Alabama where my family and I are from…we spend the week visiting family and of course doing some shopping and eating out…just the things girls do best! Two years ago you might remember I did a fundraiser of five sessions for my cousin and her family that were adopting their third baby boy. Sawyer was my first session for the fundraiser that year and he had just been adopted to his amazing mom and dad that had been waiting on him “for many years”. He was three weeks old when I met him that week! He was three weeks old and beyond adorable! When Sawyer’s mom saw my Facebook status that I was headed up to North Alabama for spring break this past year…it wasn’t two seconds later I had a Facebook message about shooting Sawyer’s 12 month session. I was beyond ecstatic when I read her message and of course we set up a date right then and there!

If you can’t tell…I had an absolute blast with Sawyer. His mom had told me he had a ton of personality and I would fall in love with him…and she was so right! He has more personality than you can imagine, he was a total blast! I think we have a yearly date!!! **smile**

Good morning…or well it could be Good afternoon or Good evening…just depends on when you have hopped onto read this new post!! It’s coming from me at a morning hour- so Good morning! If you have been following my blog for a.n.y. length of time you will most definitely recognize the Cooper family. They were one of my very first clients back almost four years ago when I started. I see them almost two times a year and these girls are too fun! Now almost four years later they were the great and amazing models for one of the.ONE DAY.workshops. I can’t thank them enough…have you ever thought about the fact of having 11 cameras in your face…one is intimidating enough…seriously 11. That’s why they are so great! Enjoy the session we had for the workshop…then the girls had a fun outfit we added on to the end of the session! This outfit was with just the girls and I…they were so relaxed and fun! Full of their own poses and fun ideas!

April was a g r e a t month on my calendar! Here are only a few of the highlights all documented by instagram!

::my great adventurous friend and I signed up for this crazy 5K coming to NOLA this fall::

::the regular schedule of teaching almost 20 hours a week::

::my great adventurous friend and I checked off an item from our bucket list- we biked the whole Tammany Trace-27 miles and like burning 1400+ calories later we had a blast and looking forward to doing it again::

This past Saturday I had an absolute blast with the seven amazing girls that joined me for the.ONE DAY.workshop.2 Not only did I have a great time teaching these seven but I also had a great time planning all of the details and seeing it come together…As they arrived they found their cute little “stash” at their work area…an adorable recycled paper notebook- hand stamped with their name…mind you! Along with a fun bottle of Voss sparkling water, some delicious – to – die – for chocolate chip cookies (my alllllll time favorite) their adorable hand stamped name tags so no one had to be embarrassed about forgetting their neighbors name…all tied up with some of my favorite- twine and yellow ribbon!

We started the morning out with a little “get to know you” then headed straight out on our live shoot with our amazing model – Mollie. If you have been around my blog any length of time you will remember Mollie modeled for me last workshop season! The attendees love Mollie and wel..l so do I! Mollie came to my rescue when my original model couple had to cancel due to her being sick…we were both sad because we were looking forward to it but thankfully Mollie was able to give us a little of her time on Saturday morning!

As we came back to the “class-room” we began from the very beginning with working with lightroom. There were three attendees that have used lightroom in the past, one had used it but just couldn’t “get it” and the others were brand new to even seeing lightroom! By the time we were working through each module they were getting the hang of the tools…we had a quick break for lunch…added a few random “door prizes” in there…then went straight to editing our session from earlier that morning. I think I have a few attendees addicted or rather hooked on Lightroom! We topped the afternoon off with some yummy snacks and Izze!
