My brother and his wife were having their third baby boy…she had just gone into labor…the phone rang at 12:34am on August 6th…I had just gotten two hours of sleep…to wake up with my adrenaline going ninety-to-nothing. I took a quick shower, washed the hair, slapped some make-up on, jumped in the car with my mom and we were headed up the interstate on an hour long trip to the hospital. By this point you are wide awake and your body is still in shock! My sister in law normally goes pretty quickly, so I was expecting to see this new nephew mid morning…pretty logical thinking right?! Well…..Mr. Josiah decided he wanted to take his time. Jamey’s contractions weren’t getting any stronger or closer together, so the doctor decided to intervene with a *little* bit of meds just to get it going. The smallest dose she could…and it started to work! My sister-in-law labored for 16 hours with Josiah and about six hours of hard, intense labor. Please read this next part carefully::: She goes all natural….did you hear that? Yes! She and my sister are two of my heroes when it comes to having children…they give me hope, but then again I just don’t know!!!!!! *wink*
At 4:48pm on Monday August 6th Josiah Dylan was born! We are so grateful for a healthy baby boy…something we will never take for granted again. We are thrilled and to know his name means, “Jehovah Heals”. It is so fitting for our family at this time. As many of you know my sister had a full term still birth back in January, Isabella Jean. We know having Josiah as part of the family this soon after Isabella is part of the healing process and God has been so faithful through it all.
I am beyond excited that my sister-in-law and my brother allow me the privilege to be a part of my nephews births by photographing each moment. There is nothing sweeter than seeing a God given miracle born. Then to have the whole family come celebrate his birth that evening was a highlight of the day too. My other nieces and nephews were so intrigued by Josiah, asking a million questions i.e. where is his belly button? Why is he crying? Say what you want to but…YES…I’m a gloating aunt aka “E.E.”
