3 Practical and Affordable Tips to Accessorize Your Outfits

Accessories. I, until recently, chose to spend most my money on clothing until one day I realized that all of my outfits basically looked the same with very little pizazz! From that point, I have made an effort to gradually add some fun accessories to my daily outfits. It is amazing what a little sparkle can do for your outfit and overall day!
1. Statement Necklaces

Some of my favorite ways to accessorize are statement necklaces. These do not have to be expensive. I love to watch Banana Republic, Anthropologie, Loft and J.Crew who often put these types of items on sale at a really affordable price, but it still is better quality than a Charming Charlies (which I do find some great pieces from time to time). Statement necklaces are great to add a fun element to a simple t-shirt jean kinda day or elevate your look a more formal occasion. I like to have a few neutral necklaces, like all gold, silver or tan stones and then a few bright colored ones as well.
2. Shoes
Another accessory to experiment with is shoes. Now some of you might be girls who have closets full of shoes. I love to find my fun shoes at TJMaxx or Marshalls, something that is cute but I do not have to break the bank on. Shoes can be as cheap or as expensive as you want them to be in today’s fashion world. Before I buy a pair of shoes, I try to place them with at least 3 outfits in my closet that way I know that I could utilize them rather than buying that killer pair of heels you only wear once! (Guilty!) It is also good to think about what season you are in in life and decide whether you will wear flats more or heels. With that said, play around with colors and patterns. There is nothing like wearing a simple outfit but having a pattern like leopard, floral or polka dots on your feet!
3 Headpieces

Finally, headpieces, headbands, scarves and hats are a great and often overlooked accessory. I am certainly guilty of wearing my hair the same way again and again. Pinterest, has some great ways to incorporate these into your looks. Here are some of my favorite pins with these accessories: 1. Head Scarf: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/

I hope this challenges you to accessorize you outfits and have fun while playing around with new pieces!
