The Stringer Family session posed some challenges…not them…but circumstances…but we were able to work through those and nail their session! I’ll get to those challenges…bare with me!! Lisa and I met about a year ago when she attended the.ONE DAY.workshop 1…then she attended the.ONE DAY.workshop 2 this past spring… she is a photographer as well and when she found out she was expecting she wanted family pictures as they await their little blessing! I was thrilled to be able to photograph her and her family during this special time!
As they were headed this way for their session the dark clouds rolled in and I was getting a little nervous. It came from out of nowhere and any photographer watches the hourly weather channel a.l.l. day before any session! It was supposed to be perfect…but that changed very quickly. I decided to start at a location with a covering…as we were shooting it was thundering and rumbling and getting closer. I decided to go ahead and get them to change into their second outfit and try to shoot in a natural green space…only to go two blocks around the corner and there was a steady drizzle. I was texting two friends on opposite sides of town to see what the weather was like…the response I got was ” it’s pouring” and “it’s coming this way”! Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!! So what are you going to do besides make the best of it and hope it passes fast! So we drove to another fun spot that has covering…while the rain continued to just be a steady drizzle, I got a little wet but it was worth it…while wrapping up at the second location we decided to drive away from the rain a little and try for another natural green spot…we beat the rain and had like five minutes to shoot there…it was perfect…some of the best lighting…some of the best shots of the family!! I don’t think I’ve ever moved that fast at one location before. I think we got like 15 “poses” in that 5 minutes! Score!!!!!!
Needless to say this fun family session came with challenges that we laughed about and made it through!!! I love my clients!!!!
